"Body Learning" provides a practical and simple introduction for anyone considering learning the Alexander Technique. It is the first book I recommend to new and potential students.
Edward Maisel's book is an introduction to a selection of Alexander's own writings. It is a good introduction to the history and development of the Technique, and is still one of my favourite 'Alexander' books.
'The Use of the Self' is Alexander's third book. It describes how the technique was developed and explains the way he worked on himself to bring about the changes he desired. This book is the smallest of his books and is a classic.
"Man's Supreme Inheritance" (see below) was F M Alexander's first book, published in New York in 1910.
